Prediction: Series Split

The last time the Minutemen clashed against Maine, UMass traveled to Orono where they were handed a 3-1 loss by the Black Bears. Maine’s biggest advantage was the number of shots they took, as the Black Bears fired 35 to the Minutemen’s 20. On the bright side, it seemed late in the 3rd period, a shutout was imminent for goaltender Jeremy Swayman, but it was spoiled by UMass’ Jake Guadete who scored with just 35 seconds left in the game. Despite the loss, UMass went down fighting until the final horn sounded. UMass, however, will enjoy a huge home-ice Friday and Saturday nights, as the student section will be packed in Mullins Center. UMass is determined to get their revenge on Maine in this Hockey East doubleheader match up.
